The Journey of Creating the Book
Over the past year, I’ve been working to turn thousands of photographs and field notes into something real, a book that captures what it truly feels like to be out on the Irish coast with a camera in hand. Every step has been hands-on: designing the layout, writing the stories that sit alongside the images, choosing the right paper stock, and fine-tuning the tones so the photographs print exactly as they should. I’ve spent months testing proofs, adjusting contrast, and balancing text with imagery until it felt right.
I wanted this book to be printed in Ireland too, and I have found a printer that can not only do the images justice, but can also support a local Irish business at the same time.
This isn’t a book pulled together quickly. It’s been built from the ground up with purpose, to feel personal, tactile, and honest. My aim is that when you turn the pages, you’ll feel as if you’re standing beside me on the cliffs, waiting for the same light to break across the Atlantic.
But COAST isn’t just about my journey, it’s about sharing that experience with you.
Bringing COAST to Life on Kickstarter
Producing a book like COAST at the quality it deserves comes with significant cost, from fine art printing and colour proofing to the choice of paper, binding, and design. It’s a major undertaking, and without support, it would simply be too risky to bring to life on my own.
That’s why I chose Kickstarter. It’s a way for independent creators like me to make something truly special with the help of those who believe in the project. Every pledge directly funds the production, there’s no publisher or distributor in between, just a community helping turn years of work into something real.
But like all Kickstarter projects, it’s all or nothing. If the funding goal isn’t met, the book won’t go to print.

COAST Is Officially Funded — Because of You
I honestly don’t know where to start. COAST has been fully funded in under 24 hours, and that’s entirely down to everyone who showed up, backed it, shared it, and believed in it. This wasn’t guaranteed. It wasn’t automatic. It only happened because you made it happen.
For years, I’ve dreamed of people holding a book of my own images, something real, something you could sit down with and see that this came from a decade of work. And now, because of your support, that’s no longer a dream or a plan. It’s going to exist.
