32 Counties. 32 Shots. One Mission.

“32 Counties | 32 Shots | One Mission” is the biggest challenge I’ve ever set myself. I’m a professional landscape photographer and YouTuber, and I’m travelling across Ireland to photograph all 32 counties in one continuous journey—completely solo. In each county, I’ll take one meaningful photograph, visit a local independent coffee shop, score a goal at a GAA pitch, and hike at least one kilometre. I’ll be filming and editing on the road, releasing one video every day throughout the trip. It’s all in support of Pieta House and their Darkness Into Light campaign, and for every person who subscribes to my YouTube channel during the project, I’ll personally donate 1 cent to the cause.

Master Your Telephoto Lens

For many, including me, when I think of landscape photography I think of the wide open vistas, however for many others the telephoto lens has quickly become their go to lens, and for good reason. It allows you to capture shots unlike any that are possible wit your wide lens, plus it can help you reveal far more in the landscape than a wide angle lens can. the key however is not only having one, it is bringing it out and knowing how to use it.

This Photo Haunting Me for 5 Years... Until Now!

It’s been five years since I last photographed Downpatrick Head, a prominent feature of Ireland’s rugged west coast. Located in County Mayo, this spot is known for its dramatic sea stack, Dun Briste, which stands isolated from the cliffs—layered with strata showing millions of years of geological activity. A location like this draws photographers back time and time again—not just for the images, but for the experience.

The Biggest Lie in Landscape Photography (And Why You Should Ignore It)

Landscape photography is often misled by a pervasive myth: that "perfect conditions" are a must for capturing great images. This belief has caused many photographers to wait for ideal weather or chase forecasts for the best light, missing out on incredible opportunities in the process. However, experienced photographers know that the best images can be captured under any conditions, and waiting for perfection can hold back both creativity and growth.

Finally Got the Shot I Dreamt Of… and Put Thomas Heaton’s Theory to the Test – You Decide

After years of trying and countless failed attempts, I finally returned to Pine Island—determined to bag the shot I’ve been chasing for what feels like forever. But this time, I had more than just the perfect conditions on my side.

A while back, Thomas Heaton made a bold claim about the best spot to shoot this iconic location. So with the mist rising, the lake like glass, and the golden light breaking through, I decided to test his theory—once and for all. Was he right? Or have I been standing in the better spot all along?

Watch the full journey, see the results, and decide for yourself.

Just How Good is the Sigma 24-105 Art for Landscape Photography?

In this video & Blog , I’m taking on the challenge of shooting only with the Sigma Art 24-105mm f/4 lens at Dooneen Pier on the Dingle Peninsula, Ireland. With a stunning sunset and dramatic waves crashing against the rocks, this location provided the perfect opportunity to test the versatility of the lens. From wide landscape shots at 24mm to close-ups at 105mm, I pushed myself to make the most of the lens’s range, capturing both expansive views and intimate details.

The Biggest Myth in Landscape Photography

Composition is one of the most talked-about aspects of landscape photography. You hear it everywhere: follow the rule of thirds, use leading lines, balance your frame. These principles are undeniably useful, but the problem is that they are often treated as absolutes rather than guidelines. The idea that there is a single "perfect" composition is one of the biggest myths in landscape photography.

Forget Dramatic Waves: Discover the Delicate Side of Seascape Photography

The evening before my Ballydowane workshop, I headed down to the Copper Coast to scout the conditions. The waves were calm, the sky was textured, and I wasn’t sure there would be a shot at all, but then one wave changed everything. In this video, I share how I prepared for the shoot, what I look for on location, and how I adapted my approach when the sea wasn’t delivering the energy I’d hoped for.

The Truth About perfect Light in Landscape Photography: Overcoming the Myth

Landscape photography often carries a widespread myth—the belief that bad light equals bad photos. Many photographers, especially those starting out, follow the conventional wisdom that only certain times of day, particularly golden hour, produce the best images.
